ACT Program Community

“Tú eres mi otro yo.” - in lak'ech

“I am human only because you are human. If I undermine your humanity, I dehumanize myself.” - ubuntu

Welcome to the ACT Program Community!

The Advanced Clinical Training Program is made possible through relationships. The participation of every individual and community partner contributes to the community and, in turn, are touched by the community. As a program and community, we are grateful for and commit to engaging in right relationship. The cultural, philosophical concepts of “in lak’ech” and “ubuntu” amongst other ancient indigenous and interdependent ways of being conveys our community aspiration to provide an climate and culture of respect, compassion, and unconditional positive regard, made possible through practices of critical self-reflection and relational safety. Come meet our community members.

“An Indigenous worldview is relational (and systems oriented). It is holistic, so that the whole is valued more than its parts. People see themselves as deeply connected with everything and everyone around them. To understand ones self requires understanding all that is around. To hurt the land and the community is to hurt ones self.”
